At Java Whiskers, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the recent closure of Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium – London’s first cat café and a true pioneer in our community.
As fellow members of London’s cat café scene, we’ve always admired the path they helped pave. Lady Dinah’s brought the cat café concept to life in London back in 2014, turning what was then a novel idea into a vibrant and much-loved destination for both cats and humans. Their early success helped show what was possible for the rest of us, and we’re grateful for the inspiration.
Leading the Way
Opening their doors with the support of a passionate community, Lady Dinah’s didn’t just create a place for people to enjoy time with cats. They created a unique and whimsical space that championed cat welfare and offered a peaceful break from city life. Their Alice in Wonderland-themed café quickly became a local favourite for London’s cat lovers.
Lady Dinah’s Lasting Impact
Throughout the years, Lady Dinah’s Cat Café gave many rescue cats a second chance. They provided them with a safe, loving space while they waited for forever homes. That commitment to feline welfare is something we at Java Whiskers deeply respect and share.
The support they received during their recent crowdfunding campaign spoke volumes about the impact they’ve had on so many – a testament to the joy and comfort they brought to visitors and the care they gave to every cat.
Continuing the Journey
Lady Dinah’s helped lay the foundation for cafés like ours, where cat welfare and human connection go hand in hand – a mission we proudly carry forward at Java Whiskers.
To the team at Lady Dinah’s: your contribution to the cat café world in London will be remembered and appreciated for years to come.
With love and purrs,
The Java Whiskers Team 🐾☕️
