Our café is a temporary foster home and the cats at our Marylebone café are from The Scratching Post, and the fee paid to adopt a cat goes straight to the shelter. We are very happy to be the connecting point between the kitties, the Scratching Post and now many new happy cat owners.
The Scratching Post has been around since 2004 and can hold up to 130 cats, which includes kitten units and foster homes. Our café is one of their foster homes where the cats live whilst waiting for new forever homes. The Scratching Post aims to relieve the suffering of malnourished, abandoned and unwanted cats in need of care and to provide and maintain rescue spaces for the reception, care and treatment of such animals, and when suitable, rehoming of them. It’s a no-kill shelter too. If a cat is unable to be rehomed, then they stay in the care of the shelter. If a cat is unwell to the point of no quality of life, then they are euthanised on the advice of a vet. Susan and her team are amazing, and they’ve helped so many cats find new loving homes throughout the years!
